EPISODE TRANSCRIPT

0:04 Jon
Welcome to Levelheaded Talk. Today's Friday.

0:09 Andrea
Happy Friday. Johnny. today is one of my favorite self-concepts. It's our last one for the week. Self Esteem. (Yeah) not really born with that are we? (No) earned, it is earned. Right? It's a reverence and knowing yourself as sacred, it's knowing so self-respect is practicing that reverence and practicing that sacredness but a self-esteem is an absolute knowing, that I am sacred. It's almost self-love. Self-Love is an advanced practice. (Yeah) self-esteem is one step towards self-love. It's to hold yourself in that reverence, right. It's earned via an unyielding choice to know your own worth by unbelieving the beliefs about you that were from trauma.

1:00 Jon
Yeah. Well, as you describe it, I can grasp certain things about self-esteem that it's really close to self-confidence. How do we differentiate between self-esteem and self-confidence?

1:11 Andrea
I think self-esteem is, I think a lot of these are woven, right? But self-esteem is just this. It's an internal dialogue. More so than achievement based. It's like an internal knowing I'm already whole, I'm already entire and complete and I’m sacred and it's that. You feel it. You drop into this knowing and you just feel this expansion of your worth. And it just it blows all the negativity out of your brain. (Yeah) And in and out of your body. It's like wow, I'm, I hold myself in high esteem.

1:48 Jon
Well, I get it now because there are people who exude self-confidence. But deep down, they don't have any self-esteem, because they can latch on to something they've done and then be confident in the moment.

1:59 Andrea
Yes, if I took away the thing that made you feel competent. Would you still have self-esteem? Yeah. Right. The self-esteem isn't reliant on anything else.

2:10 Jon
It's the knowing that you are whole.

2:11 Andrea
Yes, whole, entire and complete, just like the moon is always full, no matter what phase it's in and how it appears to us. It's always full. The crescent moon is a full moon. The half-moon is a full moon. The total eclipse is a full moon. We're already full, right? We're already whole. We're just…

2:32 Jon
Regardless of what light you have shining upon you at the moment.

2:36 Andrea
We’re just a little blocked. when we're not emotionally sober and really lifting ourselves. So how full are you? Are you full self-esteem and self-respect and self-confidence? You are in there somewhere. So, let's get there by doing the real training because remember, every self-concept is earned.

2:58 Jon
So that's thing about self-esteem is that somebody can hear us talking about it and say yeah, that's just not me though. But it is. It just takes training.

3:09 Andrea
It used to not be me also.

3:11 Jon
It just takes training. Yeah.  It just takes training.

3:13 Andrea
It just takes training. Yeah, when you are at a real deficit at any of these concepts just recognize that you can become amazing at it in a very short order. Just give me some of that desire. Set your intention and take action. And we are always here for you. I hope you guys have a great weekend. A levelheaded weekend. And we'll see you Monday.
