Welcome to The Ted O'Neill Program. You said off mic just a moment ago, a quote that is very profound and I'd like for you to repeat it.

Yeah, so we've been talking all week about some pretty big stuff and we left a little bit on a cliffhanger yesterday about introducing the concept of displacement and replacement in order to increase one bandwidth to be able to engage in new activities. Right? That was the gist of it. (Yes) So the quote that I had found for this episode is from an author of Ted Andrews, who is a highly qualified initiate. He's written many books that require a lifetime of study. And the quote is, the improbable is not beyond one's reach. (Yes) Now there's some key words in that. Improbable. Why?

Well, he didn't say impossible, he said improbable. And that means that there's something that in the consensus of supposition, it's not likely to happen.

All right. So, in the consensus of supposition, the best indicator of the future is the past. (Yes) So then, the improbability is not beyond one's reach. (Yes) But it's improbable because most people do what?

They revert to their knowledge of the past. 

1:45 Ted
They don't ever revert. We just stay stuck in it. (Yeah) We see the world as we are. And we interpret things through the lens that we've come to identify as ourself based on our experience. So, there's all manner of anomalies. We talked about some of them on the program this week, including your massive transformation. That was a highlight, the day before you came in the first time (Yeah) to now be several years into this process where you've lost like 80 pounds of body fat and maintain that and build muscle mass and totally transformed your mental and emotional self. That was highly improbable, based on what the data set was up until the moment of your decision, where you crossed the starting line. Improbable. Now, let's go a little farther. So, the improbability is improbable because most people stay stuck with the familiar. Their experiences, but it’s not beyond one's reach, one's reach. What does that indicate?

Well, one's capacity and the starting point and an end point for what one's capable of.

Yeah, so If I'm talking about my reach, I have to think about where I am right now. And I'm reaching or extending myself (and how far you can get) Yeah, I have to extend myself past myself. I have to get over myself. I have to get past my prior limiting self-beliefs that exist anywhere in my life to experience within the new. (Okay) So when people, you know, are in that space where things are improbable, they're just anchored to the mundane. That's it. But all potentials This is one of the concepts I believe in theoretical physics. All potentials exist right now, as potentials. And we hear that in a different way. People say whatever the mind is, this is an ultimate, right? I want to maybe Napoleon Hill. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe you can achieve. That happy little jingle. (Yeah) But that's, there's a truth in that. And that's kind of validating this idea that all potentials exist right now. Whatever you can think of is an achievable thing. In fact, I like to say when I'm working with people on redefining their reality, on reaching a set of higher ideals, the first pass when we go through this, I invite them to stop, pause and to think past that. Now there's a method to this. Why would Johnny sit down with someone and ask them what they wanted to achieve and then had them reflect on that and redo the assignment?

Well, they have to first decide on that destination because you're going to present them with a path where they are asking a lot of themselves. (Okay) And in order for them to allow that path. to dictate their behaviors. You're gonna have to realize that the end is achievable.

Yes. Okay, so now, that's good, but why would I have them stop and rethink it? You're right about this.

Because most of us, most of us are ambling through life without giving it any thought at all.

Okay. Very good. So, the thinking of the new me and that theoretical situation with someone who's new to a process is coming from their past experiences. (Yep) It's anchored to their mundane experiences. So, for them just a little bit of relief. Feels like a massive win. But engage in the process of change. We talked about the same half measures, right, half measures availed us nothing. (Yeah) So half, half measures don't get us halfway there. It just goes in circles. So, I encourage them to think bigger, because they have to think outside of themselves. If you can think of something that you can already define and see as possible, then you've actually not changed your sense of self. You have not created something that is beyond your current limitations. (Right) So to create real sustainable change, you literally have to reform yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Otherwise, we're just making a greater attempt to be aware at the moment, which is fine, I guess for some, I just don't know much about that, but it's not what I do. (Yeah) I like to think about really going for it and this isn't a process. It's like that we do this when people jump in. It's effortless. Now this is the realest work that anyone is going to engage in the process of true self betterment, I think is at the heart of the highest level of the human experience.
