EPISODE TRANSCRIPT

This is the Ted O'Neill Program where we explore the science and philosophies for performance optimization, and the elevation of the human experience from the mind of Ted O'Neill with Jon Leon Guerrero.

0:26 Ted
Good training in and of itself doesn't guarantee an individual success. And this is the thing you touched on earlier, it's due to other training that a particular individual has received at some other point in their life, or there can be a lack of desire for a certain outcome. You know, we're just now kicking off a new body come round this week and so we can draw a parallel there for you, you know, our body recomposition program is really a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Let's talk about this a little bit. So, some people continue to stick at the really rudimentary levels, while others are not only striving but thriving through this process. So, for those who aren't obtaining the result, they have a greater desire to continue to do other things than to prioritize the result that they say they want. So, in other words, that energy is going somewhere, someone could enter this and say, Yeah, I want to change my body this way, but their actions demonstrate differently. So even with good training, they're pointing their desire into a different direction. So, and we've talked about this before this concept of want so want is usually recognition of something you don't have. So, your energy and your intention are pointed to the lack you're experiencing. And that's why they fail to obtain a new outcome. So, think about this as a concept if I think I want something. What I'm really saying is I'm in recognition of what I don't have. And I bring this up particularly like we're talking about body comp because in your example through your journey where you've now lost over 80 pounds about if you just showed me a picture

and just completely unrecognizable. So, you attach to an outcome that you didn't yet have a physical representation of. And you walked through that door in other words, you weren't an observation of what you didn't have. You attached your energy to this ideal of a new you and you stayed there, and you kept locked in to that as your only potential outcome. Therefore, you're the one who then receives that outcome. So, for you that process was pretty simple because its objective and it was non-negotiable. You aligned with a different outcome. So, you know, when you align and you focus on being the change that you desire, that's how that works. If your energy is in alignment, with the thing that's your end result, then you're invariably going to demonstrate that outcome. That's just how it works. And so, I like to point to your result because for those who haven't seen the pictures, it's such a dramatic thing with everything and your vitality is different. Everything in your vernacular is different. You're not speaking from a place of limitation. And it's so different that for me, I still can't picture it in my mind, even though I was there for every one of those training days. I don't remember what you were like when you were heavy.

Yeah, I you know, one of the things that was a huge part at that time not yet named Lifted Academy experience was that every time I walked through that door, I already was that guy. And I didn't realize it at the time. I just knew I enjoyed the process. But as I look back on it, I walked through that door into a community that recognized me as that always. Even when I was attempting to do a reverse hyper but couldn't actually put myself on the piece of equipment properly. I still felt like when I walked through that door, I was an athlete, and I had something that I had to prove to myself. And there was never a negative connotation in my proof of that to myself. You know, even if I failed at a particular thing. I just felt like well, you know, sometimes Michael Jordan shoots at the buzzer, and it doesn't make it home.

Yeah, so those things didn't deter you because you were locked into that success and the rest of the things were part of the process. So, I want to mention another one of our community members. Since we're talking about recomp, we just did the hydrostatic dunk and one of our guys Mark lamb. Man, oh man, so he continued this last round he lost 10 more pounds of body fat. Now, Mark has gone through an amazing amount of change. Through this process. He started over 300 pounds. He's now somewhere around 230 pounds. I forget the exact number. And we're going to dip a little farther. So, the last round. He had already demonstrated, you know, quite a bit of success, like over 60 pounds or something. And he gets to this place where his shoulders bugging him. He has some challenges with work and travel which he had already been able to overcome down to where he didn't miss a beat anywhere with his nutrition. No matter what other obstacles he had to face he was locked in the same way that you were locked in. And then he gets to this place where his body's hurting a little bit because when your body comes in for a long time, that's going to happen. So, we had just come off a little bit of a Muscle Gaining push. You're creating an entire change state of being and you're starving the old identity. You're not starving the body, right? There are always enough calories with the way we do this. Like you're starving the old identity. So, he gets snagged up a little bit with some of these things. And so, we do a little special rehab. And then I outline a program from the thought was very aggressive and that was for him as his next phase to take out gluten, lactose and sugar. And so he just instantly in a non-negotiable way, apply that and then receive the result of another 10 pounds of body fat off of his body in an eight week period. So, you know success continues to create more and more success.
