This is The Ted O'Neill Program, a podcast that explores practices to maximize human performance from the mind of Ted O'Neill with Jon-Leon Guerrero.

Welcome to The Ted O'Neill Program. Coach, you said something earlier this week about how your emotions dictate your quality of life. And then I wanna tie that to something else you said, which is, the deeper you go, the deeper it gets.
And so, I think where I'm headed with this is the course where you are aware and in charge of your emotions and your ability then to engage in processes to get the most out of them, and then to find out that what you thought was the most isn't the most gets better and better. So, wow, I think I just made a statement, and I don't know where to go with it. It's just true.
1:20 Ted
Thanks for tuning in. 13-second episode. Yeah, so all of this, I think what I'm hearing you say is, as you get more proficient, like the deeper you go, the deeper it gets, and you get more proficient at controlling yourself through emotional fluency or emotional sobriety.
Because that, again, I think, I didn't just say it, I declared it as an immutable fact that your emotional state dictates the quality of your life.
1:44 Jon
Carve it in a stone tablet.
1:46 Ted
Yes. And so that being true, what would then be an important next step? Well, we would have to ask the question, huh, well, how do I make myself then unassailable emotionally speaking?
Because if I can be thrown off, then I can instantly lose the quality of my life. And this is evidenced everywhere. So that curriculum is a great separator in the human experience, and it's a great up-leveling mechanism to really see your world differently.
And the moment you move from the space of being controlled by other people, places, things, and institutions, in other words, things outside of you, and you have your own control, the deeper your experience gets. You're able to then see things differently. You become exposed to ideas that previously eluded you because you were mired in the common.
2:36 Jon
That's the first part. It's just your ability to perceive and absorb ideas that previously flew right past you.
2:45 Ted
That's a huge thing. Robert Gilbert is a guy who I've enjoyed his work with over the years. He just recently passed.
Robert Gilbert. He was kind of like a disciple of the whole Steiner lineage. We've talked about Rudolf Steiner on this program.
And a really knowledgeable guy. I forget what field he initially came from, but it was something to do with something like the nuclear technology division of the US military. But he was a mystic, you know, not just a scientist.
And he talked about the ability to receive information-rich downloads. And that is like an opening of your bandwidth, but you can't be in the space of being able to be emotionally manipulated in order to do that, because you don't have the mental clarity. You're full of chemistry.
You're full of adverse chemistry. You can also, in my observation and opinion, you can't be, you know, in the space of altering your chemistry to exogenous compounds and receive information-rich downloads or know what to do with them.
3:58 Jon
That sounds obvious now that you say it. But, you know, many people don't even consider that there are opportunities that elude them when they're chemically altered.
4:14 Ted
Those opportunities are around us all the time. All the time. They already exist.
All potentials exist right now as potential. So, you know, whenever I get into a discussion like this, it reminds me of this book written by, I want to say, was Thomas Kuhns. And he had a book that was about the mechanics of scientific revolution.
And the precursor to all scientific revolutions was there was this identification of anomalous events that would be more and more frequent, and more and more observable. Yet if you pull the lens back a little bit from that, these aren't anomalous events. They were already there. We're just looking now in different places. So as you expand your bandwidth, and as you expand your mind, or as you begin to receive more information rich downloads, you start to see potentials and possibilities that are already there. Everything is already there.
We think it's not, which is it's a kind of a, and I want to say it's a cute human behavior because it just kind of keeps us small. But it's what people oftentimes believe, like they're dead set on their opinion, like this is the one way it can be, like in a universe of infinite possibilities. But this is it.
I'm totally certain this is the one thing.
It's embedded within the way we're made until we learn to train it differently. And this is at really the heart of all of our training. You know, my life's mission is to assist in the conscious evolution of humanity by bringing strategies and curricula to the table that can help people evolve themselves past their current limitations.
So that's something that is really at the core of what we do here at Lifted Academy. It's being able to provide the next step, not just the theory, not just the observation of, wow, we're all kind of made this way, and we're all kind of screwed because we all think of the super limited way, right? Geez, that's no good.
But then, okay, well, then what's the way out? If, right, so there are discernible ways that things work predictably, and being able to pull away from those predictable, common, mundane experiences, then allows your experience to deepen. And if you do that with intentionality through a process, where there's purpose behind that, and there's adequate structure, in other words, the structure would be, it's shown that this leads to this leads to this.
Like, every great tradition has a teaching. It's been time tested and proven. To where you know, then, if someone were to engage these steps in this order, this result is what happens.
And that's one of the things I'm most proud about in our work, is the people who really engage the work, and they take all the filters off of, this is what I believe to be true. But they really come in and they empty the cup, and they dive into the training, and the result is inherently predictable. They're going up level in ways that they never thought possible, and really would have been quite difficult to explain to them on the front end, like this is what you're going to get because it wouldn't even seem like a thing that they thought they were looking for or could understand.
